Don't Throw Away Your Confidence

Confidence. Ok, time for honesty. Anyone completely confident with themselves? I know I'm not. I think maybe if I weighed 50lbs less, or if I studied something else in school, or up until recently, maybe if I had my college degree. There's always a maybe...

What will it take for me to be confident? Oh yeah, I need Him! Through Him all things are possible!

My beautiful and intelligent sister Re just got back from the SheSpeaks 2011 Conference in Concord, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and resources for women's ministry. A few weeks back some of you may have remembered me posting on Facebook about Renee Swope's new book A Confident Heart, and the 7 Day Doubt Diet. I will admit that I orchestrated group emails wanting to get this known and spread the word, yet when the emails started coming in for the devotionals, I failed to open even one up.

I feel the Lord is calling out to me right now about my confidence and self-worth, so when Re showed me a chart/handout that she was given at SheSpeaks, with the source A Confident Heart, I knew not only did I need to read and study this, but share as well.

Sitting in my inbox as we speak are the 7 daily devotionals. I vow to share each one with you, my beautiful sisters, in an effort to boost our confidence through Him.

The chart has a main verse at the top:

"I will not throw away my confidence; it will be richly rewarded. I will persevere so that when I have done the will of God, I will receive what he has promised."
- Hebrews 10:35-36

It is a 3 column chart with headings of 'When I say...', 'God says...', and 'Truth I will hold onto...' I will type this up into Excel, email me and I will be so happy to pass this along! Print it out and put it on your mirror! Read it every day!!

Here are a few highlights, two of the nine posts. With each daily devotional, I will post another truth!

1.) When I say 'what if I fail,' God says 'I will give you victory!' Truth I will hold onto: "But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ." (2 Cor. 2:14 GW)

2.) When I say, 'I don't have enough courage,' God says 'Be strong and do the work.' Truth I will hold onto: "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, Your God, is with you." (1 Chron. 28:20 NLT)
