Fashion Beauty Friend Friday-Dream Goals

As many of you know, I'm currently unemployed. I graduated in May, but haven't found a job yet. This is good and bad. The good news is I can stay home, be a "trophe," and wait for that perfect job, the bad news is I get bored. I am very lucky in that I don't have to work full time either. My husband is an amazing provider which allows me to work for fun. Which is not as easy as it sounds! Here I am all fabulous for my interview at JMU last week:

I've been asking myself these questions over and over again, trying to determine what I want to do for work. It was so appropriate that FBFF talks about it this week!

1. Fess up - if you could do anything professionally what would it be?

I would love to own and operate a boutique where women could come for fashion advice, tea, shop, talk, or just relax. I would want a daycare connected so the moms could drop off their kids and come relax and find themselves again!

2. What draws you to this?

I really want to help people, especially women. My mom was a stay at home Mom, and over the years gradually lost pieces of herself. Yes, I don't have children, but I can understand. I want to minister to these women. Women who give and do everything for other's needs, forgetting or putting aside their own. It would also include fashion consulting and being a personal shopper.

3. When did you first start dreaming about this ideal?

In the last 2-3 years I've been thinking about fashion consulting, which has blossomed even more in the last few months. Many of my new friends here in Virginia are moms, and I see their pain. This has inspired me!

4. What's holding you back from going all in?

Just doing it! I have been talking to my friends Katie and Audrey about starting a daycare, but I think this is that much more. Finances of starting a business are always difficult too!

5. Sometimes the first step is the hardest... what's one step you can take now on the way to realizing your dream?

Start a Mommy's Day Off group.

  1. Oh, you're so lucky that you can take your time deciding what to do! I think your business idea is a great one, you should really just go for it!

  2. Lovely dream! My dream is something similar as it would allow me to incorporate so many of the things I love.

    Good luck!

  3. You are super lucky that you can have the ease to find the perfect spot for you. It must take so much of the stress off unemployment and the horrible job search environment. I'm sure you'll find something perfect for you. - Katy

  4. Hey another fashionista! That would be awesome if you and Katy started her own shops :)

  5. I would SO visit a place like that!

Okay, so I'd visit any place that I could drop off my kids, but combined with fashion?!?

    YES please!

  6. That's such a wonderful idea, women need more places like that! Also, love your blog design!

  7. That's such a noble goal! You should follow your heart:)
