Laundry Room Redo

My husband and I are slowly but surely renovating our beautiful home, with the laundry room up next.  I say laundry room, but it's more like a laundry closet. Here are a few pictures, starting with what it looked like when we moved in (not like there's any difference now besides a washer and dryer:)

(now:)

Yuck, I know.  The washer and dryer are ancient, but still manage to do the job.  When we bought the house there were no appliances, and I chose to splurge on the kitchen appliances, paying only $150 for both the washer and dryer.  Delivered and installed.

The dryer goes against our energy efficiency plan, with every load taking two full cycles to dry.  Not efficient at all.  My husband has offered on numerous occasions to replace it, but I want to wait until the washer goes as well, I want a matching set.  I know, high maintenance

Now that we've decided to renovate this little nook, it's time for research to determine what I want.  Here is some of the inspiration I've been drawing from:

And this just cracked me up:

This one is my favorite, and closest to what we're looking for:

I love the counter top to fold on, the rack to hang shirts, and the back splash! Gorgeous!

Which is your favorite?

  1. Just my opinion, but I don't recommend the "matched set" unless they are both rated high. We made that mistake when we bought our house. The dryer was supposed to be one of the best, so we assumed the washer would be too. Wrong. The washer was terrible and we ended up getting another one. So I guess I'm saying that Consumer Reports is your friend :)

  2. Girl, I LOVE the laundry room pins. I have been grappling with redoing my laundry room for some time now but cannot settle on what to do. Thanks for the pinspiration!
