#ManiMonday: Snakeskin Stamping Manicure

I stumbled upon this manicure pretty much by accident.  I had bought a Revlon Colorstay polish on clearance at Target, and had been wanting to try out the color.  I was uber disappointed with the color, it was a dead match for my living room paint color, and needed something extra. Wait, you don't have a nail polish color that matches the paint in your living room?!?

I wasn't satisfied with just the blue, but I didn't want to remove it and completely start again. Then I remembered hearing/reading somewhere that the new Essie Metallics are great for stamping. I had just picked up 'Penny Talk' that day, so I decided to give it a try. And WHAM. Seriously gorgeous!

I used the BM-215 stamp, and was thrilled with the outcome. You can purchase the Bundle Monster (BM) set on Amazon here for $21.99.  Make sure you buy the 25 piece sets, they're a wider stamp.  I of course bought the original set before knowing this and was disappointed when the stamps weren't big enough to cover my nail bed.  I don't think I necessarily have large nail beds, but they were only covering like 75%.

To achieve this manicure I applied 2 coats of Revlon 'Blue Slate,' and stamped Essie 'Penny Talk' with Bundle Monster BM-215 plate.

#SawPinnedConquered Link-Up: Welcome!

Welcome to week 1 of #SawPinnedConquered! I am hoping this link up takes off, I know you guys are pinning like crazy, so let's show off what we've actually done! If you're not ready with a post or picture this week, come back next week.  I realized today that this link up is going to motivate me to accomplish a few projects that I've bought the materials for, just haven't done.

That being said, I'd like to share a few pins I've conquered. First and foremost, manicures! I frequently pin manicures that I love to either recreate or inspire me to do something else.  This manicure, original picture from here, and recreated slightly different:

One of my favorite recipes from pinterest that I made over and over again are the Creamy Chicken Taquitos here

My favorite DIY so far from Pinterest is a tie between this Hex-Nut Bracelet:

And my Peacock Necklace:

Now it's your turn! You can grab the button further down on the right, and show us what you've made!

#SawPinnedConquered Coming TOMORROW!

In case you haven't heard (or seen my posts on Facebook and Instagram,) I am hosting a link up tomorrow here, called Saw, Pinned, Conquered, or those Twitter savy, #SawPinnedConquered. The premise is to link up projects you've actually done off Pinterest inspiration! This could be recipes, crafts, outfits, manicures, etc. Stop in tomorrow, Thursday, July 26th for the link up! If you don't have a blog, link up a twitter pic, an instagram pic, etc! Let's show off what we've made!

Grab my button on the right further down and spread the word! If you're interested in co-hosting, send me an email, and we'll schedule you a week!

#ManiMonday: Beach Manicure

I am in love with this manicure, and not just because it's a beach mani! I got the idea from Polish & Pearls, and could not wait to share this on ManiMonday! If you haven't seen Jen's blog, you need to-just make sure you have awhile....you'll find SO many beautiful manicures!

I was too lazy when I was doing these late Saturday night to do all 10 nails, but I kind of like the accent nail alone. Here's one more against the skirt I wore to church Sunday, which really went with the nautical look, (bonus: wedding set pic for Mandy and an unflattering photo of sausage fingers!)

I used: Revlon Minted, China Glaze Snowglobe, and a no-name coral from Ross (seen here.) The only problem with this manicure is my impatience.  I should have let the Mint dry more before applying the glitter- you can see the dimpling affect in the last photo, which wouldn't have been so noticeable if I had started my mani before 11:30pm!

Is this mani absolutely adorable or what?!?

Me & My Accessories: iPhone Charger

I just want to take a second today and brag about my husband. He made me this iPhone dock this past weekend, I just about died when I saw it.  I'm so in love with it!

I had looked at book-phone chargers on etsy, but they're $50-60 and that's more than I want to pay for something I don't need. Not only is this a book charger, but it's a storage box as well:

I've put three on etsy so far, you can see them here

I am absolutely in love with it, what do you think?

#ManiMonday: Matted & Flecked Watermelon Mani

I'm so excited to be guest hosting Mani Monday, make sure you stop over and see my special manicure as well as the other manis guaranteed to brighten your Monday!

Even though I am hosting, I still want to contribute a manicure. When else will I get to show off 2 manicures on one day?!?

To achieve this manicure I used Essie 'Mohito Madness,' Sally Hansen XW 'Coral Reef' on ring fingers, Zoya 'Chloe' (fleck,) and Essie 'Matte About You' (topcoat.)

Although it's definitely different and unusual looking, I think I like it shiny rather than matte:

Influenster: Summer Beauty Box & A Giveaway!

I was super excited to receive the email from Influenster that I was selected to receive the Summer Beauty VoxBox, and even more excited to show you what I got! This is my second VoxBox, and I am just as happy with the second box as I was the first.

The long and short of Influenster is you fill out surveys, earn 'badges,' get sent boxes of samples (mostly full size and for new products,) leave feedback/fill out your survey, and shop the products at reduced rates.  Kind of like Birchbox and Julep, but it's entirely free.

In my first box, the Love VoxBox, I received a box of herbal tea, a Venus/Olay razor set, Ghiradelli chocolate bar, Kiss Nail Dress, and Truvia Sweetener. I will admit I was kind of jealous at the Mom VoxBox recently, you can see what they got here

Here is what I received in the Summer Beauty VoxBox:

  1. Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread | $3.29/package Quaker Soft Bars in Banana Nut are made with real bananas and almonds, with 5g of Fiber, 20% of daily value in 5 B Vitamins, and contain 6g of Protein. I definitely enjoyed the bar and will be purchasing them for quick breakfasts at work.  If you visit the Quaker site through the link above you can get a coupon for $.75/box.
  2. Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30 | $8.99/6oz  Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen 'nourishes and pampers' skin, while providing UVA and UVB sunscreen protection. Available in SPF 12, 30, and 50. Visit here for a $1.00 coupon.
  3. Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy | $4.99-$5.99/12.7oz  This is a new line of shampoos and conditioners that nourish the scalp, considering 99% of hair's natural strength comes from the scalp. I threw these in my travel bag to use when we go away.
  4. Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color | $9.99 Sally Hansen has finally jumped on board the Magnetic nail trend, even if it is a little late! Available in 8 colors, this nail polish creates 3D effects by holding the (enclosed) magnet above wet polish.
  5. Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticle Cream | $5.99/full size This lotion offers 24 hour moisture, even through hand washing! Contains shea butter and leaves hands so soft!
  6. Tampax Collection | Prices Vary Yeah, no need to spill details here. You can go here for free samples from Tampax.
Now for the giveaway! It's just a little giveaway for now ( I have some bigger ones planned,) but I'm giving away the Sally Hansen Magnetic Polish in 'Polar Purple' and the Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticle Cream.

Are you signed up for Influesnter? If not, you should be!

*I received these Summer Beauty products complimentary for testing purposes and have not been reimbursed for my opinions*

#ManiMonday: Coral & Gold Manicure

I found the inspiration for this manicure on Pinterest awhile ago, and had the picture saved for future reference.  I did some digging to find out what colors were used in the original manicure, and was happy to find out they were drugstore polishes with affordable pricing. The original manicure was from NailBlog.Net and used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in 'Coral Reef' & 'Golden-I.'

The coral color I used is a no-name color from Cosmetic Arts, a nail polish band that can be found at Ross for $.99-$1.99.  They are a quality polish for the price, I recommend picking some up!

The gold tips are Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 'Golden-I', available at all drug and grocery stores for $1.99.

I am loving this manicure! It's nautical in a way, isn't it? Although it's stunning in coral & gold, this manicure could be done in any color combination.  You could also apply the tips to cover tipwear from your original manicure.
