#ManicureMonday: July Julep Maven

This week I'd like to share my July Julep Maven box with you for Manicure Monday, and show you the manicures I've already done with these polishes. I debated on switching to another style this month, but after looking at the other 4 boxes over and over, I kept deferring back to American Beauty.

The theme this month is 'It's Your Time To Sparkle,' emphasizing matching your nails and your lips.  Is that something you do? I would say it's a dated trend, but Julep insists the trend is coming back!

I was so excited to check the tracking information yesterday and see that this was delivered and waiting for me when I got home from work. I was most excited about the free polish, America, which came for the 4th of July.  I already had on Nails Inc. Baker Street, so I simply made the thumb and accent finger showcase America.

The Baker Street manicure had a little wear & tear on it from a day and a half's wear, but still matched beautifully.  America could be worn alone or on top of another color, and has adorable silver stars throughout.  I'll be rocking a bright red with this for the Fourth!

Next up is Julep 'Yumi' and 'Lynn,' which I combined to make a glitter gradient manicure.

Here are a few shots of 'Lynn' by itself, a color that was pretty washed out on me.  I think this would be very flattering on darker skin tones, it just wasn't flattering on my pastiness!

This was a difficult color to catch accurately with my Canons, so I snapped a few shots with my iphone which was more accurately color-wise:

Lastly, Julep included a lip gloss this month as the matching lip product ('Peony') and I am in love! I tried to take a few pictures to accurately portray the clor, but they didn't come out that great...but then again that's nothing #picfx and #instagram can't fix!

'Peony' is a beautiful natural/nude lip gloss that I will use frequently with a more dramatic eye. It applies very smooth and is not sticky like most lip gloss. I highly recommend!

Overall I was very pleased with the American Beauty Sparkle box this month and as usual, can't wait til next month! I will be passing along 'Lynn' to my sister Lyn as I believe every girl needs their nail polish namesake! Although it's not spelled like her name, it's how everyone spells it anyway, so it's a slightly humerous gift too.

  16. Girl, I think I just found my new favorite blog. I am adding you to my reader immediately!!! I love BOTH those manis and the gradient glitter is a fave of mine. I just signed up for the Julep thing the other day too, I can't wait to get mine. I wish I signed up earlier so I could have gotten the America color... nothing like a fun glitter! I still have a Caboodles (yes, like the container) nail polish that's clear with red glitter and some red hearts in it. I rarely wear it but it's fun to break out for Valentine's day!!!! So glad you visited from the Nail Files and glad to be following you!
