#ManiMonday: Revlon Whimsical
Tuesday, September 4, 2012
I had to check through my postings, I feel like i have posted this manicure before. Hmm...maybe just on instagram?
This manicure is 2 coats of Sinful Colors 'Cinderella' and 3 coats of Revlon 'Whimsical.' Whimsical is a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's 'Glitter in the Air,' with a much better price tag of $4.99 verses $18 for GITA.
After looking through the pictures on my phone, I found these pictures from the first time I used this polish:
This time I used Zoya 'Kendal', with 'Cinderella' on my ring fingers. It's hard to see from the pictures, but they are slightly different. I think the next time I will use Kendal again as it took 2-3 coats of Cinderella before Whimsical to cover up my nails.
Don't you just love drug store dupes for the designer polishes?

That looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI have this color too and love it. The only part that stinks is you have to have a nice shade to wear under it and I only had dark blues and not a light one. It's a nice, subtle take on the glitter polish trend though!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOVE drugstore dupes! I have searched for one for Butter London's British Racing Green to no avail. But usually I am thrilled with Revlon/etc dupes. I used my first Sinful Colors one this week and was not thrilled though :( I think mostly it was the brush, but it was thick and uneven and I had tons of bubbles. PLUS- I applied it at 4pm, two coats as thin as I could get... went to bed at around midnight and I woke up like with sheet imprints on them. WHAT? Did you have any issues with yours?
ReplyDeleteYou always have the cutest nails
ReplyDeleteI love this combo of polishes, it's so whimsical!! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great dupe, it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteI love Whimsical. Yep, I love drugstore dupes. I'm always on the lookout!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!! I wish I could do my nails as good as you do.
ReplyDeleteGeez... I pay $15 for Revlon polishes here in Australia. Such a rip-off. But I LOVE that polish. Will end up buying it if I see it. There's a pinkish/pale lavender one which is the same with the glitter in it which is quite lovely too.
ReplyDeleteStarry Nights is the pinky one - which you've done a swatch of too. YAY! lol
